Yes the tofu in light brown sauce is good!
Absolutely!
I waited far too long to try this place out. The service was good, wait staff willing to find out of ask about anything you questioned. The dish I chose was very good, place was well kept fixed nicely. Will definitely return to try more items.
The laughing owl is awesome downtown atmosphere. With a huge menu selection and great tasting food. The service is good a little wacky hours. All and all one of my favorite restaurants in Goldsboro.
My favorite dish here is the honey chicken. It's exactly like the one at p.f Chang's, and I can't believe I found a place that has a knock off so close to the one that we really like. It's nice because there isn't a PF changs anywhere near here.also if you're interested in any other Asian fusion food this is a good place to go sometimes the food is overcooked and sometimes you'll order the same dish and it'll be perfect it really does kind of depend.
Never disappoints!! Everything was great even the service!
Great food! Great service!
Great food. Great atmosphere. Pleasant staff. Couldn't ask for a better dining experience!
If I could give this place a negative review I would. Worst customer service I have experienced in over a decade. Would have been better off getting McDonald’s than visiting this restaurant. Half the food that was ordered was cooked incorrectly, and our server just walked away after explaining to him how poorly our food was prepared. 10-10 would NOT recommend!!!
Loved the ambience, nice place, staff was great, however 3 of us ate there each ordered a different kind of chicken dish . Flavor was good, but 2 of us ended up sick that night and the other the next day. Not positive it was was the food, but seems too much of a coincidence that we all 3 got sick.
Great service, great food. Highly recommend.
I can't tell you how amazing this restaurant is. That's something you have to experience for yourself. That being said, I have never had a dish I didn't like and everything is absolutely delicious. Don't miss out. Try Laughing Owl today ❕
Just okay. I had the Tom Yum soup. Spicey. I've had better. I ordered chicken it came out as shrimp.
The atmosphere was great, love the old building. The waitress was very nice and the food was excellent! Glad to have something so nice close to home.
We have dined here frequently (maybe 12 times?), and unfortunately, with one exception, have been disappointed each time. From being “forgotten” by a new waitress, to hour and a half waits for food. The food is good, however, the service is terrible. Tonight, we sat in the bar area (tended by ONE person, and it was busy); waited an hour for an appetizer, and after an hour and a half waiting for two club sandwiches, called it quits. Previously, again in the bar area, our order was wrong (maybe because the waitress didn’t write it down?) We won’t be back. It is a shame. Our money is better spent elsewhere.
Food is inconsistent. Way too much sauce on some dishes. Some items on the menu are very dated. Menu is huge and kind of confusing. I wish they would do a better job with fewer dishes. Beautiful building. Atmosphere is good. Drink menu definitely caters to a younger crowd. Lots of fruity rum drinks.
Went with my family for my 62nd birthday. Went a couple years ago and the food and service were fair at best. This time it was much better. Went on a Friday night and it was busy. The server was nice and efficient. Food was very good and hot. Would definitely go back.
Amazing food, excellent service!
First time there. Great food, atmosphere and wait staff. Very friendly and personable. Travis Moss was singing and playing guitar and he was so awesome!!!!
This restaurant reminded me of a Chinese Restaurant. The food was good but lacked something in the way of spices. The service was outstanding and very attentive to my needs. Fast and friendly service. Expensive for what it is.
I look forward to every trip here. The food is good!
Delicious food at very reasonable prices. Great atmosphere.
Described to me as a "fusion". I think it's just confused. There's no mixing of food genres. There's just two completely different food types on the menu. You can order a hamburger and fried rice. Server was a bit timid, but she was kind. Food was what you'd expect. My mango chicken was bland with no mango flavor at all.
Delicious food, large selection, good service! Very pleasant lunch with my folks! Would recommended if in the mood for Asian cuisine!
Food is good but definitely not exceptional. I think that you don’t get enough food for the money you are paying!!! This is definitely a dine in place because it seems like you are paying for the experience rather than the food. The fried rice is not your traditional fried rice you get from Chinese take out places and the crab Rangoon did not have one trace of crab in it. At a traditional Chinese take out spot I could have gotten a feast for 30.00 here I got 2 entrees a order of crab less Rangoon, pot stickers and 4 wings and paid a WHOOPING 57.00!!! If you are going on a first date and trying to impress your date this is the place to go! But if you are just trying to get Chinese take out for a night in you pajamas in the house...Chopstix by Walmart is the place to go!!!!
Loved the atmosphere and the food was really good.🤓 A little expensive though.
There was somewhat of a wait to be seated. After that the service was attentive and friendly. Situated in a 1940's building where the owners kept the origianl motiff, the mood was festive. The food was good with good portions. They had great variety with the choice of Asian dishes or American. A good dining experience.
Delicious food with good service. Went for lunch and enjoyed the casual atmosphere.
Came here for our son's wedding rehearsal dinner; friendly staff; good food
Good place to hang out with your friends. Huge bar and nice ambient. I recommend it.
This an excellent oriental restaurant. The Kung Pao Chicken & Roasted Peanuts was amazing. Such a wide variety of extremely flavorful foods. The complex flavors was great! We had a group of 6 people so we ordered 6 entrees and put them in the center of the table and then we all were able to try each of them. The customer service was good and the atmosphere was good. I look forward to going again.
Wnderful staff, great food, excellent variety.
My tofu soup was outstanding this time. Loved it. Thanks
Really great food, my friends and I all had something different and is was delicious. This is made from scratch food at its best. Would highly recommend trying them out. Can't wait to go again and try somthing new!!!
Beautiful restaurant. Bad service. We went when it was really busy we had to wave down the waitress every 5 mins. She kept forgetting about us.
Delicious food! Warm atmosphere. Friendly staff. Our waitress was perfect. She checked on us just enough, not too much and not too little. Right in the heart of beautiful downtown Goldsboro. Recommended.
Pretty good Asian fusion food. Service is decent in my experience.
Tremendous variety! There's literally something for everyone. Crab rangoon, calamari, tuna, oysters, hot wings, pizza, sandwiches, burgers, lo mein, curry, pad thai... they've got it all! I usually order the Singapore Rice Noodles because it's perfect. There's a variety of seating options at bar, booth, table, and outside seating. Staff is friendly and fast :)
My wife and I had a pleasant experience at the Laughing Owl on our date night. We ordered the Crab Rangoons, which were delicious with the sauce. Then we both had the Mongolian Beef, served over rice noodles, which was just great! It really took me back to when I was younger and ate something similar. It didn't appear to have as much sauce as necessary, but it really spreads out. Then for dessert it was the lava cake, perfect to share. This place has an amazing atmosphere, and the service was warm and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place!!
Delicious reasonably priced food. Wait staff was very attentive to our needs. Wide variety of food for varying tastes in a very quaint setting. Definitely worth a visit.
Our waitress is always amazing we have a great time while enjoying great food. There are so many diverse options and so far everything has been great.
The food was amazing! I would highly recommend the spicy chicken & shrimp. The Mongolian beef was also very good. I would have like to have more beef on the plate. However the rest of the portions are large. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that it took a really long time to get our food. I look forward to returning.
The manager “JD” was extremely rude to me over the phone. Yesterday I called in an order for the spicy fried rice. I called back the next day politely explaining that I didn’t like it and could I get something else. I co also explain that I could bring back my entree to show that didn’t eat the entire meal. The manager responded “mmm well I don’t need your meal. What can we do with it? We can’t sell it to anyone. That’s not sanitary”. I said sir I use to work in fast food. The only reason I suggested to bring it back was because I know some places require that just so they can throw it away! He responded saying “well we’re about to close and we open back up for dinner at 4:30. I don’t Know why you would get the same entree again.” I said I never said I was. Long story short he was VERY rude. & I will never eat there again. Terrible experience.
Went for a weekday lunch around 12pm. The restaurant didn't seem to be very busy at all. I sat outside at a shaded table with a great view of downtown. I ordered the Madras Curry with chicken. Service was a tad slow (my waitress actually didn't check on me at all) and I waited about 35-40 minutes for my meal to arrive, but it was absolutely delicious. I was late returning to work due to the wait though.
Attentive service, good atmosphere, and great food! Not to mention they had excellent live music on Friday....that girl could sing! #Nashevillebound
Not sure if it was worth the price $75.00 for Orange chicken, madras curry with chicken, an appetizer of coconut shrimp, two kids pizzas with 2kids drinks and one Ice tea. 2 Kids had Lava cake. I didn't bother to take the receipt with me but it seems a little off. The waitress was also very hard to understand and forgot to tell the cook about the appetizer. The food was good but next time I will be watching the charges.
12-18-2019:Had a great High School reunion-like party for 30+ in their private room. Very ample space. It was a little cool, but Diamond and her fellow staff served us like friends and with calm expertise and warmed my heart. I had Vietnamese spring rolls, delicious and delicate and Kung Pao chicken. Alcohol menu for those who chose them. I will go back and the prices were good. $$.
This was our second time here. The food was amazing! Hubby had the Pad Thai and I had the Red Curry Chicken. Generous portions, too! Definitely will be back!
Good folks with good food! They have music on Friday nights! I saw the Chris Nash Trio on my visit there a few weeks ago! They were good!!
Food is exceptional. The manager was so helpful. I think his name was pete.Anyway thank you sir!
Staff is completely unresponsive! Atmosphere is very nice and food good but don't expect any service. Had to go up to the front twice! Too bad. Bad management! 😔
